Masud Forkan
Wing Commander (Retd)Director
Wing Commander Masud Forkan (Retd) hails from Chunati of Lohagara Upazila in Chattogram. He was born on 1 March 1955 and received his education in Dhaka. While studying in the Economics Department of Dhaka University, he joined the Bangladesh Air Force as a flight cadet on 10 March1975 and was commissioned on 29 December 1976.
He built his career as a transport pilot in No. 3 Squadron of the Bangladesh Air Force. He also served a flying instructor at the BAF Academy for three years and later went to Iraq to train Iraqi fligh cadets during 1987–1989 in Tikrit.
He served in the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh as the first Director of Flight Safety and Regulations from 1991 to 1994. He also pioneered the team that negotiated the first Biman Bangladesh flight to New York.
He graduated from the Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, in 1994–1995 and obtained the fawc qualification from the Air War College of Pakistan Air Force in 1995–1996. He served in various positions at Air Headquarters before retiring from the Bangladesh Air Force in 2005. Before joining DMCB in 2023, he served in a multinational company on diplomatic and consular visa application operations. He is an avid reader and has a deep interest in contemporary Islam. He is married to Ms Zarena Begum and is blessed with one son and one daughter.
